Amongst the Hiroshige-heads

It took me till mid-afternoon yesterday to reach my people.

My people, it seems, are graying couples with hours a-piece to spend pouring over Hiroshige's Tokaido series, Japanese Samurai armor aficianados, googly netsuke geeks and shaggy Tibet heads pressed in nose-close to the thangkas.

Cost of spending hours amongst fine Asian art you're allowed to touch in a well lit space with lovely bathrooms? Zip, no door policy either.

Welcome to the auction houses (I was at Christies) - a strange sort of democracy.
